Meet the coaches of the NBC 2019
The New Business Challenge is all about diving into the different business cases and lighting the entrepreneurial fire within the participants. However, finding a solution for a business case is not always easy and therefore, the NBC supports this process with 4 experienced coaches. They guide the NBC teams with their experience and critical questions during the challenge, while sharing their unique insights.
Diwy Tomassen gained experience in Central America as general manager for the non-profit organisation Niños the Guatemala after which she successfully transitioned to customer success manager at 1%Club; a do-good crowdfunding platform. Currently she is a programme manager for Crosswise Works, a social enterprise that prides itself for working as social impact builders by creating positive connections within organisations, people and teams. Diwy is an enthusiastic coach with eye for detail, she knows how to ask the right questions and connects easily with the different participants. After a coaching session with Diwy, you will feel listened to and empowered, Diwy motivates people to reach for the stars – and beyond!
Samuel Waterberg is a Ghanaian who lived in the Netherlands for 22 years. As a coach, Samuel brings along a suitcase of experience with both working in the Netherlands and Ghana: he worked for Rabobank in the Netherlands for 7 years and set-up the Diagnostic Centre (a health care company) in Accra, Ghana. Currently, Samuel is CEO of People’s Pension Trust Ghana Limited, a pension company dedicated to workers in the informal sector. Samuel is a down-to-earth coach with a never-fading smile. He is eager to share his insights with the younger generation, what makes him a determined coach within the NBC.
Marieke Jacobs is a project manager at SustainableMotion, based in Amsterdam. In the different projects she works a lot with young and driven minds, what motivates her throughout. With an eye for digital content and a passion for sustainable living, Marieke can look at issues from various angles. Her background in psychology and her expertise within IT gives her a unique perspective on the business cases which fosters creativity. Marieke as a coach is like a fresh breeze of air through your team. She will ask you questions which you did not even think of yet, which challenges you to think out of the box!
Jemila Abdulai is the creative director and founder of the award-winning Circumspecte.com. This digital platform was created in 2007 and is committed to meaningful insights and interactions related to the African continent. Jemila has a background in economics, has a ton of experience in the digital sphere and never stops exploring through her frequent travelling adventures. Jemila is a driven coach who will ask you the tough questions – which allows you to grow by reflection. Also, she has an eye for talent and will motivate you to be the best version of yourself. Her entrepreneurial spirit is contagious!
